1. NEXT IN FASHION

This is a great movie. It was a brand new one on Netflix in early 2020.

It is a fashion reality series hosted by Alexa Chung and Tan France, in the form of a design competition stretched across 10 episodes.

Eighteen professional designers compete to win the grand prize of $250,000 and a debut collection with the luxury retailer, Net-a-Porter, this high stakes series is sure to have you at the edge of your seat.

2. Gossip Girls

In this series, Blake Lively stars as Serena Van Der Woodsen.

It focuses on the rich life of Upper East Side teens with so much style that their too much money wouldn’t even match up to.

3. Queer Eyes

This one stars Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown and Antoni Porowski as the fab five.

It is a reality series that shows how one can use fashion to reinvent oneself. You’ll love it!

4. Styling Hollywood

This is a day-in-the-life documentary that follows Celebrity Stylist, Jason Bolden as he breaks through the pulls and pushes of the Hollywood awards season.

Jason Bolden’s husband, Adair Curtis also stars in this movie interior-design husband. The couples styled celebrities including Taraji P. Henson, Sabrina Carpenter and Serena Williams among others.

5. Dries

This 2017 movie gives a look into the professional and private life of one of the world’s most successful independent designers; Dries Van Noten.

6. Project Runway

This is an American reality television series created by Eli Holzman and starring Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia among others, that focuses on fashion design.

It has 18 seasons and a total of 251 episodes. Contestants compete with each other to create the best designs and are restricted by time, materials and theme.

There is a panel that judges their designs and one or more designers are typically eliminated from the show each week. Contestants get eliminated during each season until only a few contestants remain.

Finalists are given the opportunity to prepare complete fashion collections for New York Fashion Week. After the runway shows, the judges choose the winner.

7. Self Made

This movie tells the inspirational tale of Madam C.J Walker, America’s first female self-made millionaire who founded a hair care line for black women whose role in the movie was played by Academy Award-winning actress, Octavia Spencer.

8. Atelier

This is a Japanese drama that follows a small-town young woman who lands a dream job in fashion in Tokyo, working for a rather mean boss, but who is supportive and inspirational.

9. Cut from a different cloth

This short film looks at Idris Elba’s foray into fashion collaborations with the urban label, “Superdry”.

This film also gives us a lens into how Superdry founders run their business, how they overcome challenges and what it takes to run and maintain the Superdry brand image.

10. SATC (Sec and the City)

This movie first aired in 1998 and focuses on four smart New York-based women. Regardless of their differences and challenges, they stick together.
